Training is a key to increasing awareness of the I Prefer program. Ensure all hotel staff members, especially front desk and reservation staff who communicate daily with their guests, are well-informed about the program. The I Prefer Learning Platform is a great tool to help staff understand the benefits of the program and how to introduce I Prefer to their guests. Attending regular training sessions that we provide is also recommended. If you see a non-I Prefer Member checking in, please always ask "Are you a member of I Prefer?" This one phrase serves as the starting point for a conversation and a significant opportunity for guests to become aware of the program. Also, don’t forget to place I Prefer signage at the Front Desk!
I believe this can be achieved by understanding and appreciating cultural differences which can significantly elevate I Prefer Members’ stay. Personalized approaches such as providing recommendations for local attractions, events, cultural activities, and hidden gems based on guests’ interest would be nice. Also offering authentic Japanese cuisine at your hotel’s restaurants including both traditional and regional specialties or suggesting to the guests to explore local food culture in their neighborhood can create memorable experiences.
